・Hideaki Kawachi, Executive Director
Hideaki joined Hyogo Prefectural government  in April 1982 and has been the director of HBCC since 2015.

He has served in managerial capacities upon graduating from Kobe University of Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies in 1998, including: the Director of Hong Kong Representative Office of  Hyogo Prefectural Government (April 2004 – March 2007); the Deputy Director of  the International Relations Division (April 2009 – March 2011).and the Director of Business Support Center in Tokyo  (April 2011 – March 2013);As Director of Business Support Center in Tokyo; as the Director of the International Economic Development  Division, overseeing  two groups  under the division:Overseas Development Group, Investment Promotion Group. Email

 

・Yuko Saika, Marketing Manager
Yuko joined HBCC in April of 2012. She formerly worked for the Hong Kong Trade Development Council’s Osaka office managing daily administrative and financial affairs, as well as helping establish relationships between Japanese and Hong Kong businesses. In 2007, Yuko held an internship with HBCC while studying at the University of Washington. She has also worked for the Richard Wang & Co. Law Firm while studying Mandarin Chinese in Beijing, China in 2004 and at the Hyogo Prefecture Assembly in 2000. Email

 

・Jessica Record, Lead Project Assistant

Jessica started work at HBCC in the Fall of 2016 after working briefly as an intern for the center. She returned from teaching English as an assistant language teacher in Sanda, Hyogo for a year that summer. Email

 

History

About the Center

 

October 22, 1963. Signed agreement on a sister state alliance between Japan’s Hyogo Prefecture and the United States of America’s Washington State.
