Japan Fair 2018 was held at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, east of Seattle.

An exhibition panel which was planned and created by 4 exchange students who began internship at our office in June was displayed at our Hyogo booth. It showed Hyogo’s points of interest and sources for tourism based on the interns point of view. As an activity, they did Origami and gave visitors a chance to try their hand at playing with Kendama. Our spot was in a great location near the entrance, so we had many visitors come and learn Hyogo’s name.

While there were many visitors who knew about Himeji Castle and Kobe Beef, there weren’t many who had been to Hyogo, so there were several questions regarding how to get there, such as “how long does it take and how much does it cost to get there from Tokyo?”. There were also some specific questions from a visitor who was studying Japanese history, such as “which sides did Takeda Castle and Himeji Castle belong to during the Battle of Sekigahara?”. Habatan also made an appearance and brought smiles to the venue.
