About us
Hyogo Business & Cultural Center is an overseas office based in Seattle, Washington, established by Hyogo Prefecture to promote exchanges in fields such as business, tourism, and education with all states in the United States.
In 1963, Hyogo Prefecture and Washington State signed a sister-state relationship. To further advance this partnership, Hyogo Business & Cultural Center was established in 1990 in Seattle, the largest city in Washington State. Our office is often referred to as "HBCC" for short.
We foster connections between Washington State and Hyogo Prefecture in the following ways:

-
Expanding overseas sales channels for Hyogo products
-
Supporting the overseas expansion of Hyogo companies
-
Coordinating with and serving as a liaison between local governments and international organizations
-
Promoting tourism
-
Assisting with school, student, and teacher exchanges
-
Supporting sister-city exchanges between states, cities, and organizations
-
Implementing anniversary projects and various friendship exchange programs
-
Gathering and disseminating information

We are also focused on promoting the Hyogo Field Pavilion in connection with the upcoming World Expo in neighboring Osaka Prefecture in 2025. Taking Hyogo Prefecture as a whole "pavilion", we offer a campaign allowing visitors to experience activities that involve the local communities, showcasing the tradition and culture specific to Hyogo Prefecture.
