The venue bustling with many visitors

(The venue bustling with many visitors)

We ran a booth introducing the appeal of Hyogo-Kobe by focusing on the Hyogo Golden Route with cooperation from the Kobe Trade Information Office at The New York Times Travel Show, a major travel industry event hosted by the New York Times.

This year marks the 15th time that this event has been held. There were more than 30,000 visitors during the 3 days. It is a large-scale travel event in American during which around 560 companies display their booths.

Hyogo-Kobe displayed at a portion of the JTB booth and promoted at the same table as The Iyo Bank, Ltd., which promoted Ehime Prefecture. The “Seto Inland Drive Map” provided by the Tourism Development Division of the Hyogo Prefectural Government was quite useful for promotion with Ehime. We gathered interest by promoting hot springs in the area, those being Kinosaki Onsen in Hyogo and Dogo Onsen in Shikoku.

There were many basic questions from the guests such as “where is Hyogo?” or “what can I do in Hyogo?”. Points such as Hyogo being close to Kyoto, or Kobe Beef, Himeji Castle, and Kinosaki Onsen seemed to draw attention. Also, Hyogo was praised for its accessibility to Kobe and Himeji, making them easy to visit. We would like to continue to promote Hyogo-Kobe tourism to American people.
